She's Here!

This is the first entry in what we hope will be a daily or "nearly daily" web journal about Kalli. Many of you (our friends and family) are not in the area so this website is your way to stay up-to-date about what's going on with 'the little one.' We will be getting DSL at our house on Sept. 14th, so up until that time this may not be updated frequently, but after 9/14 it will be very regular.

SHE'S ARRIVED!
Name: Kalliopi Psalm Harden (...but you can just call her Kalli)
Birthday: Sept. 1, 2004
Weight: 10 lbs, 4 oz.
Length: 22 1/4 "
Born: 4:09 pm at Home Hospital, Lafayette, IN

Mom and Dad and the rest of the family are so pleased! She's happy, healthy, and beautiful! We finally got her home Friday night and although her first day or so at home was pretty rough (can you say Colicky?), she's now adapting wonderfully and even allowing us to sleep a while at night! The rest of today's entry will be pictures. If you're new to this "Blogging" thing, you are able to leave comments after each day's entry to let us know you read it and/or leave us some messages (just scroll down all the way to the bottom of the entry and click on "Comments"! Hope to hear from you all soon!

We are thankful to God for Kalli and look forward to the day she receives the blessing the Lord has provided for her.

Children are the work of a greater power, as was the base hit a young Carl Bodden of the Birgmingham Lunch Meats hit on September 17th, 1961. Originally Carl was not slated to play, but a nasty bout of the Gnue fever took down most of the team just hours before the game, and Carl (who was having a smoke during practice) was the only one unfazed, and therefore the only member that could face the evil Seattle Gym Gnats in what would go down as the greatest game in the Southern United States Fruit Punch Lefty Slowpitch SquishBall League Playoffs.
Seventeen Innings in, Carl Bodden had kept the Gnats at bay by using what surely must have been a glove that reached the very face of God in its enormity (Carl would later say that his mothers lazy eye had effected the size of the glove, but no one had the heart to tell her it didnt fit league regulations). After striking out and placing himself in the preverbial "hole", Carl swung on an outside faster pitch, and made contact with his forearm. The ball drifted over the shortstops head (a hairlip named Ranny McNarilson, a man everyone in the playoff's called "lazy boy") and landed in the lush outfield. Seeing a chance to end the game, the Gnats left the ball alone and allowed Carl and his big ass mit to win.
God Bless Kalliopi Psalm Harden, and Carl Bodden, the greatest gifts JC has ever displayed on the month of September. - Phillipians 13:34

Dear Kalli,
We're so glad you've arrived. We've been anxious to meet you. You're certainly a cutie! We love your little hat in the picture on your baby announcement. That's a plus when you have bad hair days as you grow older. You're going to love your mommy and daddy. We've known your mommy since she was a little girl. She'll make your little world filled with love. Your daddy is also a cool guy. He loves music and loves to sing about God. That's the coolest thing about your mom and dad . They love Jesus and will introduce you to Him and His love for you as you grow up. So just sit back and enjoy the ride Kalli Psalm Harden. You're headed for a Loving ride. Dennis and Pam Pratt
